Roberta Maddalena is a Berlin based musician, filmmaker and illustrator (as Bireau). She founded Mistaken for Magic in 2016, later involving Giacomo Carlone as a collaborator (musician, co-producer). In parallel, she works as a filmmaker and illustrator for different realities, including other independent musicians or music labels, fashion brands, design and art projects. The world of the invisible, the natural and biological world and the different human perceptions of reality are the subject of her artistic research, both sonic and visual.
